Factors which Impact the Outcome of Laser Hair Removal Procedure

There are a range of different factors which impact the outcome of laser hair removal procedure. Because of expensive procedure, people while thinking of undergoing the laser hair removing procedure always face the dilemma whether laser hair removal will really work for them or not. In most of the cases people rely on the information provided by their cosmetic procedure conductors which often astray the clients. In order to get reliable answer for whether laser hair removal will work or not it is essential to look into some the important factors that can have some potential impact on the outcome of the procedure. Any decision on laser hair removal must be based on complete evaluation of these different factors as only then one can expect to get the desired outcome of the procedure. Different factors which impact the outcome of laser hair removal are given below.

Laser Hair Removal

1-Skin color: It may sound untrue but modern research on cosmetic surgical procedure shows that skin plays a significant role in determining the outcome of cosmetic procedures. Laser hair removal is the one where skin contributes a lot to the outcome. According to many conducted research studies white or light skin is more compatible with laser hair removal procedure as compare darker skin. People with lighter skin have less melanin as compare to people with darker skin. Melanin helps in controlling ultraviolet radiation that skin gets from the sun. Research shows that laser rays penetrate easily into a skin with less melanin and hence it becomes easy to remove hair from their roots. However, in the case of darker skin, laser rays cannot make their way to the roots of hair and hence most often cut hair above their roots. Thus, people with lighter skin have more chances to get the desired outcome of laser hair removal procedure as compare to those with darker hair as in the case of latter hair can grow up again after some time.

2-Nature of hair: Laser removal works best on dark and thick hairs. Laser rays can easily hit and damage hairs that are thick and dark. Additionally, dark hairs are rich in proteins which research indicates provide a safe path for laser rays to make its way to the roots of hairs. Similarly, length of hair also matters a lot. Hairs shorter than 3cm will not deliver the desired result. The longer the hairs the better will be the outcome of laser hair removal procedure.

3-Type of laser used: Different cosmetic surgeons use different lasers for conducting laser hair removal. It should not come as a surprise to us that the use of right kind of laser has a tremendous impact on the outcome of the procedure. A right kind of laser is the one in which beam width, pulse width, wavelength, and beam strength are adjustable for different skins requirements. Using a single beam width and pulse width for different kind of skins will not work up to the expectations and hence will run the risk of growing hairs again.

Conclusion: Before deciding on laser hair removal it is important to keep all these different factors in mind as they can greatly impact the outcome. Laser hair removal is an expensive procedure and hence taking all these factors into account is essential for avoiding any undesired and unpleasant outcome.
