Acrylic or Gel Nails Pros and Cons

It`s been a while that most of  the women when deciding on applying fake nails find themselves in a real dilemma whether to choose acrylic or gel nails. The availability of a wide range of beauty products in the market has definitely provided women with greater liberty when it comes to choosing a beauty products. But a variety of such products has put women in dilemma of choosing the “right” product. same is the case when it comes to getting one`s nails done.  Although both of these nail applications are popular among women, still they both have their own pros and cons which provide women a base for deciding on choosing one of these. Before applying any of these two fake nails it is necessary to be well aware of their pros and cons so that an informed decision can be made. Some of the pros and cons of acrylic and gel nails which can come handy while deciding on their application.

PROS OF GEL NAILS:

  • They get dry faster and hence can get done in a short time.
  •  They are odorless
  • They appear to be more natural and at the same time more shinny
  • They have less fumes as compare to acrylic nails which makes gel nails much safer
  • Having less fumes also makes gel nails eco-friendly
  • They have less amount of chemicals in them and hence may have less side effects if any

CONS OF GEL NAILS:

  • They are not long-lasting
  • They cost much more than acrylic nails
  • It is harder to fix a broken gel nail
  • They generally do not stick firmly
  • In case of breaking or shattering they can`t be self-treated at home

PROS OF ACRYLIC NAILS:

  • They are more durable
  • Less expensive as compare to gel nails
  • They are more compatible every type of manicure and nail beautification agents
  • They can easily be treated at home in case of any damage
  •  They come off easily and hence it is easy to remove them any time
  •  If done properly they can serve as a nutshell of natural nails

CONS OF ACRYLIC NAILS:

  • They carry the risk of damaging natural nails
  • They do not appear as much natural and may look awful if not done correctly
  • If not stuck firmly they can easily fall off
  • They take a long time to get dry and are hence time consuming
  • They have more fumes as compare to gel nails and are hence not as eco-friendly as gel nails are
  • They have greater amount of chemicals in them and hence can be health hazardous especially for pregnant women

Looking at these pros and cons it becomes obvious that the choosing acrylic or gel nails is really a matter of what a woman wants from her fake nail application. At the same time, a certain set of nails may be more compatible with any of these two application or it may be purely an individual choice without giving any regard to the given pros and cons.   2. Don’t use weird synthetic patnis, they will dry out your nails and cause them to crack and split! Use stuff that is only for nails. It IS possible to use synthetic patnis, but very bad for your nails.
